Most teaching at UNSW is provided by various sub-divisions of the university called Faculties. Each faculty typically has a number of smaller divisions within it - its Schools and its administrative (or other non-teaching) Units. Some Schools are further divided into departments.
For example, the Department of Pure Mathematics is part of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, which is in turn part of the Faculty of Science.
Most, but not all, Faculties are arranged in this way.
