The Scientia is the University’s most prestigious venue for internal and external functions and has received a number of architectural awards. It was the University’s 50th birthday present to itself in 1999. Along with various conference rooms (including the Tyree Room, the Galleries, and Seminar Rooms), it houses:
- Ritchie Theatre - used for lectures, has Dolby Surround Sound and movie-theatre quality projection.
- Leighton Hall - the most prestigious exam venue you may ever enter (also used for conferences and official graduation photos).
iCinema Centre for Interactive Cinema Research - a joint venture of COFA, Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, bringing together researchers and postgrads in fields such as new media, cinematic theory, multimedia design, cognitive science, and virtual reality
